Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year everyone!

What an amazing year 2017 has been. Definitely a year for the books! If someone told us this time last year we would be where we are with Merritt and Style, I don’t think we would have believed them. What an incredible blessing it has been! We are overwhelmed with gratefulness for your outpouring of love and support.

A little recap of our year for some of our new readers; We started 2017 off by bringing our boutique and all online inventory to Dallas from Arkansas. Laura and I truly enjoyed our time as boutique owners with the memories and life lessons it taught us over the last 7 years! As our families started growing we realized a change was needed for us to better serve our crew in Dallas.

One of reasons we began our boutique so that we could make our own schedules and create a flexible life style. Our lives, however, quickly transitioned with marriages and babies.  We found ourselves needing to adjust our dreams in different directions. So in August, after tons of prayer, we made the biggest leap of faith and transitioned our retail & e-commerce boutique fully into our lifestyle fashion blog! It has been the most incredible blessing! (To read the whole story of how we were lead to launch our blog click here!)

As we look forward to 2018, Laura and I have been praying, planning and getting really excited! What I love about a New Year is that fresh start feeling. We have been intentionally taking time to reflect on last years strengths and weaknesses. If you’ve never done that, let me encourage you to carve out that time for yourself. Taking this time for us has really helped us focus on our upcoming resolutions and goals. You really can’t fully grow past something until you allow yourself to reflect and learn from it. So even if there were hard times last year, take a deep breath and look again, with fresh eyes at experiences and decisions of your past and learn the lessons that bring growth. Let’s all commit to changing in the areas in which we need help and allowing the Lord to lead our way in this New Year.

Our goals for 2018

As we plan our goals we think it’s super important to hear from you. What are you interested in seeing and knowing more about? We want to this year to be an open book for us. Whether it’s our lifestyles, our faith, our families or specific style tips. We want to know want interests you. So we will be taking polls via insta stories this next week to hear more from you! Some of the goals we have so far received from your input/ comments from last year was to incorporate more beauty into our blogs. So we will be sharing more of our daily routines, makeup and hair tutorials.

We also have seen a lot of interest in seeing more of Chamberlain and Beckham so we will be adding them into more insta stories and seeing our day to day life!  We will also be sharing more travel posts. Where we are going, packing tips, and sharing our favorite places and sites while there. We have some exciting adventures this year so we are excited to share even more with you on this topic!

Let’s own 2018

Like we said before can’t wait to hit the ground running with this year. We are so excited to learn and grow to bring you more content! We are so grateful for all your love and support and look forward to hearing and getting to know you better as well!

I am actually sitting Laura’s living room right now as I type this after getting the boys to sleep! #babysitterlife ? but I would LOVE to see more skin care routines (specifically tips and tricks, products, etc for acne and anti-aging). I also just found out I am expecting my first baby, so anything and everything pregnancy or momma related would be very welcomed by me! Love following you guys and this blog!

So this might sound weird, but I would love to know how you guys balance how much of one item you have, like purses, clothes, shoes? I often will find something I like and think it’s so cute but if I get something new feel guilty and have to give like a ton away?. Partly because living here in Peru most of my friends have limited wardrobes but I love bags/purses and new clothes when I get them from the States (the sizes fit weird here) .

Also would love to see other every day wear for moms chasing littles.
